National Museum Of The Marine Corps, Triangle VA

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Opened symbolically on November 10, 2006. The National Museum Of The Marine Corps in Triangle VA currently houses artifacts portraying the history of the US Marines from November 10, 1775 to the present day. The museum is a 120,000 square foot state-of-the-art interactive building that captivates visitors. Quantico Marines served as models for the mannequins plus full scale equipment is used in the displays. It is rapidly becoming one of the premier visitor destinations in Prince William County and Northern Virginia.
Over the past year my husband and I have made numerous trips to the National Museum Of The Marine Corps with our camera. We have chosen 50 photos for a slide show that we believe will give you a representative view of the major campaign exhibits hoping it will encourage you to visit Prince William County’s newest, most exciting museum.

The slide show below takes less than three minutes with “Semper Fidelis” played by the United States Marine Band.

ABOUT WOODBRIDGE

Woodbridge is a geographic and postal location in Prince William County. Its’ boundaries are determined by 3 ZIP codes – 22191, 22192 and 22193. The Woodbridge area has a population of approximately 90,000 people. In the Commonwealth of Virginia if you live in a county (that’s the vast majority of us) all of your services are provided by the county. That includes schools, public safety, water and sewer, courts, libraries, hospitals etc. The elected officials of the county are Supervisors and one of those folks is the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. The day-to-day business of managing county agencies falls to the County Executive who serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors. This is also true of the police chief, fire chief, and school superintendent. The sheriff is elected as is the clerk of court. Therefore, you only pay one tax – your real estate tax. You do pay a water and sewer bill since that is a function of your personal usage.
